With a refined wardrobe that speaks to your style, it might feel like your options are limited. At Whering, we’re firm believers that having fewer items doesn’t mean having fewer outfits. One of the ways you can get more from your wardrobe without buying new is by borrowing.
Not only is borrowing clothes from friends great because you can experiment with items you haven’t had to buy, but it can actually transform your relationship with fashion. Most of us feel like we have to own clothes to have them at our disposal, but what if you found a community that was open to sharing clothes and accessories?
Himanshu Dutta, a writer for Vogue India, says sharing clothes with his sister was not only a practice of slow fashion but “has been the development of my sense of individuality”. Borrowing clothes from his sibling helped him challenge “notions of masculinity, leading me on a journey of self-discovery through fashion”.
There is so much in all of our styles to discover that we haven’t yet. Wearing other people’s clothes might be what you need to find an alternate version of yourself.
With Whering, you can discover other like-minded users, browse wardrobes you like the look of, and add other people’s items to your wardrobe. Style new pieces with what you already own to explore your new combinations in a few simple taps.
There are new ways to personalise your Whering wardrobe to make it easier to create an online community.
In the profile section, you can now pick three words to describe your style, which will be displayed at the top of your wardrobe. Whether you’re a public or private wardrobe, this is your chance to define your style for your eyes only, or your followers. When browsing other wardrobes, the three words are a great indicator to what kind of items they might own, so you can find more wardrobes you love to follow on Whering.
Three words not enough? You can also add a bio! This can be an expansion of your style words or something totally different about you and your wardrobe. It’s your place to share more of yourself with your Whering community if you’d like to.
Choose what other people see when you appear as a suggested account by pinning your favourite items to your wardrobe. Head to Settings>Edit profile and select which clothes/accessories will do the talking for you. Represent what makes you unique, what brings you joy, or your latest purchases to attract new followers who love your style.
Whering is more fun with friends.
