It was a joy to chat with styling consultant and avid Whering user, Nicole Odofin, about her journey discovering her style and what works for her, as she let go of the need to be on trend and focused on wearing what made her feel like the best version of herself.

Fluid, playful, distinctive
I would say fluid because I like to wear whatever I want to wear, I like to go with the flow. Distinctive because I think I am establishing my own personal style, so I’ll see something and I’ll know that it will suit my personal style. Playful, because clothing is fun, fashion is fun. I love to play around with textures, colours, and fabrics.
That happens all the time! That’s what I love about my style and how it’s distinctive.
Like I said in terms of playful, I like to play around with prints and there are some textures in the ruffles. I got my Nike 97’s because I love a bit of gold as you can see. I love jewellery, I’ve got some gold earrings, necklaces and rings going on.
My style has evolved drastically. I definitely used to dress to fit with what other people were wearing. I think as I’ve got older I know my personal style and what works for my body.
Personal style is personal to me. I think it’s about knowing yourself, knowing your body and knowing what works for you and what doesn’t work, and really just tapping into that and making yourself feel comfortable.
As I have developed my personal style I have definitely learned that my body isn’t the problem, the clothes are the problem. It’s been such a great journey discovering clothes that work for me and work for my shape.
My number one bit of advice would be to know your body. Look in the mirror and see what you look like and then choose clothes that enhance what you look like, rather than make you feel bad and want to change things.
I get my inspiration from any time before the 90s I would say, anything before the 2000s.
I send outfits to my friends but if they say no I still wear the outfit.
100% I would let my friends take pieces from my wardrobe, but only if they look after them!
Definitely alone! Shopping is like therapy for me. So definitely alone.
Definitely the organisation for me. As someone who has a lot of things it’s nice to see everything in one place. And especially if I am going on holiday it’s nice to plan my trips because of baggage allowance.
