Experimental, comfortable and versatile
I chose experimental because I love to borrow from all my friends and experiment with their clothes and their style. Comfortable, because you always need to be comfortable, and versatile because I love to take outfits and items and dress them up and dress them down in different ways.
The outfit I’m wearing right now is two of my investment pieces that I have worn into the ground. This is my favourite jumper that I wear everywhere. All my friends thought these were the only clothes I owned for a long time.
I don’t think my style has evolved but I think it has kind of matured, but I am still curious to try new things.
I probably couldn’t live without this jumper, to be honest.
Personal style to me means freedom to dress however you want to dress.
I get my inspiration from my friends’ wardrobes, and probably from nights out.
I always ask my friends, especially before a big night out or an event.
I think me and my friends’ wardrobes are quite different, but there are always similar basics but the direction that we take things is quite different. That’s why I love sharing with them so much because I get to dress up in a different way than I normally would.
I already do share too much with my friends, so I am very excited to be able to facilitate that easier [with Whering Social]. I have quite a small wardrobe, so I love to be able to dip into my friends' wardrobes and try on things they have.
My housemate has a really nice Boda jacket that I am not allowed to touch.
Whering has definitely helped me to see my clothes as more of a representation of who I am, and has been a way to curate what I own and step away from mindless consumption and buying things that six months later I no longer like. It’s helped me to drill further into who I am and what I like.
My advice would be to experiment and stop looking at people who don’t know you for advice or how they style something. Just focus on what makes you feel good and go to the friends that know you the best.
